The annual San Diego County Fair will be held on the Del Mar Fairgrounds from June 8 to July 4 with a multitude of rides, games, contests, and foods. The fair will be open every day during this span except on Mondays.

According to the Del Mar Fair’s website, children under the age of five can enter for free, and tickets for ages six through twelve or over sixty-four are eight dollars, and adults are fourteen dollars. Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster, in person at the fairgrounds box office, or at any Albertsons or Sav-on (sdfair.com).

“I am most excited for all the different types of food, but I also like all the rides, booths, and artwork,” said Junior Tino Todorovic. According to the Del Mar Fair’s website, there will be different performances, attraction rides, exhibits, games, animals, and foods. There will be animals on display for petting, shows, and rides (sdfair.com).

“My favorite thing about the fair is the deep fried food,” said Junior Mystique Vito.

“I’ve been going to the fair every year since the seventh grade, so I’m really hoping I get to go this year! The fair is always a good time, especially when I go with all my friends,” said Todorovic. According to the Del Mar Fair’s website, there will be concerts performed by Adam Lambert, Train, Big Time Rush, Victoria Justice, Emblem 3 and more. Some concerts will be free with fair admission,  for others people will need to buy tickets, and others (with tickets) will include dinner packages.

According to the Del Mar Fair’s website, the theme for 2013 is “Game on!” Senior Katie Wald said, “I always think of the fair when I think of summer.” The website said, “The summer of 2013 promises to be filled with fun and games galore for 24 days” (sdfair.com).
